1. Friction Resistance

Cast basalt pipes improve in service as material flow polishes the surface, reducing friction over time. Wetting further enhances performance in practical applications.

2. Impact Resistance

While direct 90° impact resistance is low (like other ceramics), proper installation (reducing impact angle) maximizes durability. Composite basalt pipes (with MS shell) outperform bare ni-hard pipes in external impact strength.

3. Chemical Resistance

Almost completely resistant to acids and alkalis (except hydrofluoric acid), providing superior corrosion protection for harsh industrial environments.

4. Weight & Sizes

Basalt tiles in standard 200x200x30 mm squares (90 kg/sq.m). Pipes and bends are lined with basalt cylinders in sizes from 50NB to 500NB, ensuring flexibility for various systems.

5. Temperature Endurance

Withstands continuous operation at temperatures up to 450°C, making it suitable for high-temperature industrial applications.

6. Service Life

Basalt-lined pipes offer 7-10x the lifespan of cast iron and 3-4x that of ni-hard steel, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
