Refractory Basalt Powder

Cast Basalt Powder, also known as basalt powder or greenstone powder, is a high-performance material derived from finely milled crystallized cast basalt. Produced through precision crushing and ball milling, it forms a fine light-gray powder with exceptional acid and alkali resistance.

Chemical Composition
  • Silicon Dioxide (SiO2)
  • Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3)
  • Trace oxides: Iron Oxide, Calcium Oxide, Titanium Dioxide

Fineness ranges from 120 mesh to 300 mesh (up to 500 mesh on demand) with uniform particle distribution.

Features
  • High wear resistance—outperforms steel and manganese steel
  • Exceptional corrosion resistance—10x better than acid-resistant cement
  • Uniform particle size for consistent mixing
  • Low water absorption for dimensional stability
  • Eco-friendly and non-toxic—ideal substitute for asbestos
Applications
  • Wear-resistant flooring and coatings
  • Liners for pipes, chutes, and hoppers
  • Refractory castables and corrosion-resistant adhesives
  • Corrosion-resistant concrete in industrial facilities
Refractory Castable Formulations

Proper blending is key. Acid resistance by weight:

  • Cast basalt: 98%
  • Silica stone: >97%
  • Clay clinker: 92–97%
  • Talc: 92–96%
  • Andesite: >94%

Waste silica bricks often replace raw silica to counteract volume changes during heat exposure.

Basalt Fiber Powder
  • Size: Diameter 9–18μm, Length 30–50μm
  • Mesh: Typically 400 mesh
  • Temperature Resistance: Up to 1000°C

Applications: Brake pads, grinding wheels, friction plates, wear-resistant bearings and pipes. Basalt fiber powder is superior to asbestos in resistance and safety.

Cast Stone Paste & Mortar

Mixed with water, basalt powder forms paste-like cements used as adhesives and fillers.

Can be combined with cast basalt sand to create corrosion-resistant concrete. Typical binder types include:

  • Sodium silicate clay
  • Chlorinated resin clay
  • Furan resin compounds

Common mesh range: 80–500 mesh, tailored to application requirements.

“It’s stone, but not as we know it!”

High-density, abrasion-resistant granules for industrial applications.

Cast basalt aggregate is made by melting volcanic rock at high temperature, casting it into solid forms, then crushing into graded granules. It retains excellent mechanical strength, chemical inertness, and thermal resistance.

  • Particle Sizes: 0.5–1.6 mm, 1.0–2.0 mm, 1.5–2.7 mm, 5–10 mm, 5–15 mm
  • Hardness: Mohs 6.5–8
  • Density: 2.7–3.0 g/cm³
  • Composition: ~45–50% SiO₂, plus Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, CaO, MgO

  • High abrasion resistance and hardness
  • Thermal stability under extreme temperatures
  • Chemical inertness to acids and alkalis
  • Uniform density and grading
  • Environmentally friendly volcanic material

  • Raw filler in cast basalt products (pipes, tiles)
  • Reinforcement in high-performance concrete and mortar
  • Sandblasting and abrasive cleaning media
  • Decorative and drainage landscaping stone
  • Ballast material in railway and marine systems

  • Extends equipment lifespan when used in cast products
  • Reduces maintenance and downtime
  • Eco-friendly and recyclable
  • Custom gradation for various technical requirements
