Dredging And Marine Transport
Uhmwpe floating pipes offer high wear resistance, uv protection, and buoyancy—perfect for marine slurry transport and dredging operations in harsh offshore environments.
UHMWPE Floating Pipes (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Floating Pipes) are specially designed for marine dredging, slurry transport, and offshore pipeline systems. These pipes combine the extreme abrasion resistance and low weight of UHMWPE material with external buoyancy layers, allowing them to float on water surfaces and remain stable in dynamic marine conditions.
Thanks to their superior impact strength, low friction coefficient, and chemical inertness, UHMWPE floating pipes outperform traditional rubber or steel dredging pipes in lifespan and performance. The outer foam shell or PE floating sleeve provides reliable buoyancy, ensuring consistent pipe alignment and preventing submersion even under heavy slurry loads.
They are ideal for use in coastal engineering, sand pumping, river or harbor dredging, and underwater mining tailings disposal. The pipeline system can be connected using flanges or quick couplings, making installation and maintenance easy and efficient, even in harsh weather conditions.
In addition, the UHMWPE pipe body resists UV radiation, saltwater corrosion, and biofouling, making it especially suitable for long-term marine operations. These pipes also remain flexible and operational under low temperatures and maintain excellent flow characteristics due to their smooth interior.

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe has superior performance over conventional HDPE pipe such as very high wear resistance, impact resistance, excellent resistance to internal pressure strength, resistance to environmental stress cracking, intrinsically self-lubricating, anti-adhesion, low temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance.
With a molecular weight typically between 3.5 and 9.2 million g/mol, UHMWPE exhibits superior wear resistance, impact strength, and chemical stability, far exceeding conventional polyethylene or metal pipes in durability and performance.
Offers 15× the wear resistance of steel and 4× that of stainless steel, ideal for high-abrasion conditions.
Weighs 8× less than steel (specific gravity 0.93–0.95), lowering transportation and installation costs.
Excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents with zero corrosion in chemical environments.
The specifications of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) pipes can vary based on the manufacturer, application, and specific requirements. However, here are some common specifications that are often associated with UHMWPE pipes:
