High-temperature Applications
Asme sa213 t91 seamless alloy steel boiler tubes offer superior creep strength and corrosion resistance, designed for high-temperature applications in supercritical and ultra-supercritical boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers in power plants.
ASME SA213 T91 Seamless Alloy Steel Boiler Tubes are premium-grade ferritic alloy tubes engineered to meet high-pressure and high-temperature demands in boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers. These tubes are widely used in fossil-fuel and nuclear power generation industries.
Composed primarily of chromium (Cr 8.0–9.5%) and molybdenum (Mo 0.85–1.05%), along with microalloying elements such as vanadium, niobium, and nitrogen, T91 alloy tubes offer excellent creep resistance, strength retention, and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 620°C.
The manufacturing process includes hot finishing or cold drawing, followed by normalizing at 1040–1080°C and tempering at 730–800°C. These steps refine the grain structure and enhance the mechanical properties, making the tubes suitable for extreme service conditions in steam circuits.
SA213 T91 tubes meet rigorous ASME and ASTM standards, including tensile, hardness, flattening, and hydrostatic testing. Their enhanced mechanical integrity reduces failure risks in pressure-bound systems, ensuring reliable and long-lasting performance under cyclic thermal loads.
These seamless tubes are available in sizes from 1/2” to 5” outer diameter, SCH 40 to SCH 160 thickness, with plain or beveled ends. Additional coatings such as black painting, FBE, or 3LPE are available for external protection during transport and installation.
ASME SA213 T91 alloy tubes are highly recommended for applications involving aggressive thermal cycles, corrosive steam, and continuous pressure variation. Their longer service life compared to carbon steel options contributes to reduced downtime and maintenance costs in boiler systems.
